We are delighted to announce that Joe Lloyd has accepted a role as an SQA External Verifier (EV).

A qualified IQA (Internal Quality Assurer) since 1997, having worked as a verifier for ECITB, CITB, EAL and City & Guilds awarding bodies across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, oil and gas and Building Services Engineering, Joe brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role.  As CEO of Paddeco, one of the SQA’s centres of ‘high confidence’, he also has the knowledge and understanding of what it takes to run a successful SQA centre.

The primary role of an EV is the verification and quality assurance of qualifications to help ensure that SQA standards are maintained.

Working under the direction of the Senior External Verifier and other colleagues from the SQA’s Internal Assessment Delivery and Quality Assurance and Qualification Development directorates, Joe’s role will include the following duties:

Per the SQA, one of the key characteristics of an EV is the ability to “Demonstrate an up to date and sound knowledge of the occupational standards and qualifications/courses/units and make sound judgements”.  Having personally designed and written the curriculum content, linked directly to the National Occupational Standards, for three of Paddeco’s customised SQA awards, no person is better qualified for the role.

To quote the man himself “I’m really proud to have been offered this role and can’t wait to get started. The fact that the SQA put the National Occupational Standards at the heart of their Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, the minimum requirement for proving competence and compliance in our industry, makes them the perfect awarding body for our sector.”

Please join us in congratulating Joe on this fantastic achievement and wishing him all the best in his new role.
